I know lemonade is such a warm weather thing but citrus is actually in season during the winter. My local market had a great deal on lemons so here I am today making lemonade. This is my favorite lemonade.

- Peel the zest off the lemons with the vegetable peeler. You don’t have to be too careful but try to get as little of the pith as possible.- Toss the peels with the sugar in a bowl. Let sit for an hour, tossing again halfway through. This helps draw out the lemon’s fragrant oils.- Squeeze the juice of the lemons into the sugar mixture. - Pour about 4-5 cups of water into the bowl and stir until the sugar is dissolved. - Strain mixture into your pitcher and add enough water to fill the container. Stir well.- Serve cold or hot.
